You blew through the world,
Gentle as a cool breeze,
That leaves the skin crying for more.
Your words were tips
Of a tinkling chandelier
The ensuing music
A harmony of reasoning
That will take me years to comprehend.
When your voice could no longer
Carry the tones of your thinking,
You spoke with your eyes,
Blazing with love, affection and a genuine curiosity.
Your touch trembled with age,
But still soothed in ways
That felt beautiful.
Each time our fingers parted ways
We thought it would be our last,
With our hearts hungering for more
In this worldly existence.
Yet we knew, you and I, that
The physical is only
One of many dimensions
Where we are connected
And bonded
In this life and beyond.
I know you are still here.
I feel you in my heartbeat.
These tears of selfish sorrow
That I shed today
Feels as though they defy
The depth of our love.
I know there will come a day
When these tears will not flow as freely.
Time will have softened
The shards of grief.
And what will remain
Will be the glow
Of moments spent together,
Where words were not necessary
Nor the touch.

Another moving piece Maheen, at least now I am reading poetry more often. Even though I love it I rarely read it....keep up the good work.
